Terms of service

These terms are between you and Gumtree Hill Solutions Pty Ltd (Queensland, Australia) for DeskVane. The service is provided as-is for a low monthly fee. Free plans have usage limits. Paid plans renew until you cancel in Billing. You can revert to Free if you are within Free limits, or cancel and permanently delete workspace data.

Encryption and loss of data

Vault items, private clipboard entries, and private secret shares are encrypted in your browser before they reach us. We do not hold the keys that decrypt them. Losing both your account password and your recovery key means permanent loss of that encrypted data — we cannot reset a vault, recover a forgotten key, or reconstruct plaintext we never stored. Account password reset does not decrypt the vault.

What is stored in plaintext

Tab session titles and URLs are stored so windows can be restored without unlocking the vault. Public and unlisted secret-share links store the body in plaintext so anyone with the URL (and password, if you set one) can open them. The HTTP request builder stores saved requests and history in plaintext. Voice notes send audio to AWS Transcribe as a short-lived processing step; do not dictate secrets you need treated as vault material. Do not put secrets in those features if you need them treated as vault material.

Acceptable use

You must not use the HTTP client or other tools to attack systems you do not own. You must not upload or share unlawful material (including child sexual abuse material) via clipboard, secret shares, or any other feature. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, exceed fair use of the proxy, or breach these terms. We do not moderate content routinely and are not able to inspect encrypted items.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with DeskVane (including data loss, unavailability, a security incident, or a failure of encryption or key management) is limited to the fees you paid us for DeskVane in the 12 months before the claim, or A$100 if you were on the Free plan and paid nothing.

We are not liable for loss that follows from a forgotten password or recovery key, from secrets you place in plaintext features, from someone who has your device and a signed-in session, or from content another user chooses to store or share.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
